Clan Bloodaxe postpones all scheduled guild raids |
When I first formed Clan Bloodaxe in WoW almost a year ago, I had no intentions of turning it into a raiding guild. In all honestly, I didn't even want to expand beyond 10 people -- who were real life friends (and a couple of bad ass in-game people). A few months after starting the guild, we just slowly expanded and eventaully the guild's demand for raiding (speficially Kara) turned us towards that path. We started off in Kara -- struggling on a couple bosses like any new raiding guild did. After clearing Kara enough we decided to move onto ZA... and well, due to frequent schedule changes from guild members, absent members, and a lack of a solid progression team on the same set schedule, we eventually got stuck there. The more raids that were planned the more times raid members did not show. It even came to a point where some guildies would join a random PUG for a 25 man raid other than run it with out guild (but those dumbasses were booted). Given this history, and the fact that certain guildies did not do their job as planned, I have decided to cancel all scheduled raiding plans for the guild. As of right now, Clan Bloodaxe is no longer a raiding guild. For the members who want to raid, I strongly apologize as I know a lot of you joined just to raid. For those that have not left to join a guild of chose, and who want to raid (even on occassion), I advise you to join our allied guild Vizard. Vizard is a great guild with a lot of really nice people. Just tell them you are from Clan Bloodaxe and they will welcome you with open arms.
Again, I hate to have to do this, but I cannot spend anymore time planning raids that no one shows up to. Thanks a lot guys. It's been a lot of fun.
On another note though, if you do not plan to raid, we're still going to be a strong guild focused on fun events. Whether it's world PVP events, naked streaking through Stormwind, or just getting drunk in Booty Bay, we'll be doing it all. Raiding turned into something that was not fun anymore. I plan on putting the fun back into the guild and taking out all the stress. It's a video game. It's supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable. It's not a job.
So please stick with us if you're interested in this because we'd love to have you.
Because of this, a lot of new changes will be made to the guild. We will be reforming our Clan Bloodaxe Council and possibly some other rankings.

Clan Bloodaxe Raid Requirements: |
To all members and invites, this message is a list of all the requirements that you have to get in order to be able to attend raids. Any member lacking any of the following will not be admitted in the raid.
The first three mods that everyone without exception will need are, oRA2, Bigwigs, and Omen 2. You might already have Omen2 Installed, but make sure you update this mode on a weekly basis. One tool you can use to make sure the above 3 mods are always up to date is the wowace updater.
For a little description of what these mods do, oRA2 is a raid assist, it will let raid leaders oversee raid such as repairs, reagents etc…, Bigwigs is a raid notifier which shows timers and other valuable information during boss fights, and Omen 2 is to keep track of the raids agro.
Along with that, Ventrilo is also mandatory (see server information below). |

As Clan Bloodaxe raids more and more, we also plan to be more organized about it. The Group Calendar mod is an in-game event calendar. It replaces your minimap current time tooltip and sun and moon icon at the top right with a new one which links directly to the calendar. The Officers of the guild can post raiding and other events onto the calendar and guild members can provide feedback for the particular day of the event. For example, if we schedule Karazhan on a Friday, we can post the event, sync it with the guild, and everyone can note if they will be available to raid that day. This will greatly help us out with raid planning. Our key goal in starting off is to setup scheduled raids while announcing it publically through the guild. We want everyone who will be and could be available at that day to make a note of it and if you're on at the time of the raid, we'll select you. Most likely, you will know in advance if you're going or not, but in the event of an absense, we will know first hand that you will be available. Given that, I want all of our guildies to download and install this mod. If you have an older version of Group Calendar mod, or a 4x beta version, please remove it and make sure that you are using this (4.0) version! |

Welcome the Justice League guild! |
|
Please welcome all new members of the former Justice League guild! This new guild merger will greatly benefit us in multi-raid planning and hopefully give us the ability to span our runs out to make things more convenient and flexible for the entire guild. The more we recruit, the faster we will get into native 25 man instance runs! Again, please welcome these new members and treat them with the respect that you would give any guildie! |

Clan Bloodaxe's New Vent Server |
|
We have recently obtained a Ventrilo Server for use in in-game communication. As a guild member of Clan Bloodaxe, you can use this for group questing, dungeons, raiding, pvping, and so on. Please make full use of this as we plan to during out future raid sessions. Currently, the member cap is 25 people, so if the server appears to be full and you know that you're not going to use it, please give your spot to another guildie who will. Please visit Ventrilo.com to download the latest version of Ventrilo.

Olefia is CBA's new Guild Operations Manager! |
|
In order to fully organize our raids during the week, I have promoted a dedicated member of Clan Bloodaxe to take over as Guild Events Operations Manager.
Please welcome Olefia to this position!
Under Olefia's management, he will schedule the weekly raids, select the groups, and basically plan out everything event related within the guild. Given this ability, I, as a guild leader, will be able to focus on other things. Please note that during the raid, I will still be Raid Leader unless otherwise noted.
Any raiding schedule comments and suggestions can be directed towards Olefia in-game or by posting here!
Once again, Olefia is the new Guild Events Operations Manager of Clan Bloodaxe! Congratulations! |
